Art enables us to find ourselves and lose ourselves at the same time.
— Thomas Merton

Hi, I’m Kelsey.

she/her/hers.

MA, LPC, ATR-P

It is nice to meet you! I am glad you are here seeking support for yourself.

Life can feel so overwhelming, causing us to feel stuck in repetitive or intrusive thoughts and unconsciously following old patterns. Therapy allows us to be witnessed by another person, provides a space to be able to slow down, and be present to the various feelings and experiences we are currently in. It can uncover aspects of our earlier experiences that relate to our current state, provide resources, tools, and illuminate strengths, and provide a path of liberation for the soulful aspects of ourselves to emerge.

There is limitless access to growth and self-awareness, as well as support for simply, just going through the ups and downs of life.

We are not meant to do this alone. And I feel incredibly grateful for the chance to be someone supporting you in your journey.

I believe in an intuitive journey, and find that my modalities encourage this approach.

I received my masters of arts in clinical mental health counseling and transpersonal art therapy from Naropa University. I’m also an herbalist and trained in soul-based trauma work. I weave creative and art based processes with somatic awareness and nature connection.

I take private pay and medicaid.

My Approach

Holistic

We are complex beings that can be understood through the interconnected lenses of mind, body, and spirit. From this approach, there is value in how our mind, body, and spirit carries wisdoms, holds stuck and unconscious patterns, and through deeper connection, knows the ways to healing. By working with the mind, the body, and our intuitive and creative spirit, a wholeness of healing can be re-awakened.

Art Therapy

Art materials, processes, and images offer insight and depth that verbal or cognitive processing cannot do alone. I use this term very broadly, in that creative and art-based processes are vast and unique to each individual. I offer particular art therapy techniques, methods, and processes as well as utilize how you are a uniquely creative person. Art therapy allows images and processes to make the unconscious conscious, work with dreams, memories, and the imagination.

Sometimes the images are spontaneous, sometimes they come through a meditation or somatic experience, and sometimes you come in with them already brewing.

What can an image reveal to you?

Somatic Therapy

The body holds information and wisdom. This comes in the form of what feels good, what feels bad, and what may need more exploration to understand. Often, this can be understood as the nervous system. We also hold patterns, certain postures, places of tightness, and places of relaxation. We have impulses in our bodies, that we often need therapeutic support in allowing ourselves to express through safety and facilitation. We are more than just a head and a brain, and somatic therapy allows us to connect the mind with the body to facilitate healing and wholeness.

Nature-based Therapy

Nature is one of our oldest and most reliable teachers. It can provide metaphor, resource, and provide answers to questions we are holding. Nature has room to hold our pain, our stories, our desires.

I hold nature therapy sessions on trails and in parks in the Boulder area and also weave nature connection into office sessions and art processes.

1:1 Therapy Sessions

Office: Sessions can be held in office, with access to many eclectic art materials.

Nature: Sessions can be held in parks or on trails on Boulder open space.

Virtual: Sessions over telehealth available.
